REVIEW CONSULTATION

Patients who are identified as having a problem which requires monitoring, including those who are placed on medication, should be reviewed regularly to assess their progress and need for ongoing treatment. Children taking medication are reviewed at approximately six monthly intervals. At “review consultations” their academic progress is assessed (where necessary), as well as their neurophysiological state (“brain-wave” testing). Consultation with the child’s specialist will then occur to discuss results and plan further management. Up to two and a half hours should be allowed for a review, depending on the nature of the child’s problem.

Please note: An appointment for the next review should be made at the time of each visit.

What to do if your child is taking regular medication:

The appointment card indicates whether your child should take his/her medication on the day of the review.

What to bring with you:
  • A referral letter from your family doctor
  • Your child’s Medicare card
  • Your child’s most recent school report
  • Any recent reports from a teacher teaching, or therapist treating your child
  • The full payment quoted by the secretary when the appointment was made. (All credit cards except AMEX and DINERS are accepted).
  • Our address. See CONTACT/FIND US
OTHER CONSULTATIONS:

Should problems arise between routine reviews, a consultation with your child’s specialist may be arranged. This can be arranged for parents to come to the clinic alone or with their child, depending on circumstances.
